How far in advance should we book our wedding date?
Most couples book their date 12–18 months in advance, especially for spring and fall weekends. If you’re hoping for a Saturday in peak season, we recommend reaching out as soon as you have a month or year in mind. Shorter timelines are possible on weekdays or off‑season dates, but availability is more limited. If you are looking to book an elopement package, reach out 60-30 days in advance!

What is included when we book your venue?
Every venue is a little different, so here’s what you can expect at the Hidden Gem of Gruene: exclusive use of the property for a set number of hours, ceremony and reception spaces, tables and chairs, and access to getting‑ready suites. How many guests can your venue accommodate?
Our venue works best for weddings within a certain guest range, and we’ll talk through that with you during your tour. Ideally, 250 is the max if you want all the wedding details, like photobooth, cake table, buffet, dance floor, and bar space. We always aim to be transparent. If you are looking for no dancefloor, and plated and served, we can fit nearly 300! We’ll let you know the maximum guest count for a seated ceremony and reception, as well as how layout or ceremony location might change that number. If you’re planning a micro‑wedding or a larger celebration, we can suggest the best ways to use the space!

Do you offer indoor and outdoor ceremony options?
Yes, and this flexibility is especially important with Texas weather. Many couples choose an outdoor ceremony with Hill Country views and then move indoors for reception (or under a covered pavilion for cocktail hour). If the forecast changes, we’ll help you pivot to an indoor plan that still feels beautiful and intentional. What happens if it rains or the weather is bad?
We always create a weather backup plan with you before your wedding day. That might mean moving the ceremony indoors, using a covered space, or working with your planner to adjust the timeline slightly. Our team keeps an eye on the forecast and will help you make the final call so you can relax and enjoy the day, rain or shine. Can we bring in our own vendors?
We work with a trusted and approved list of vendors who know the property well and help your day run smoothly. We do require our couples to select their planner, bartender, and caterer from our trusted list. In other vendor categories, you’re welcome to bring in your own professionals, as long as they are licensed and insured and meet our policies. You will get a copy of our trusted vendor partners on your venue tour!

Do you offer on‑site catering and bar service?
Some couples prefer a full‑service experience, while others want more flexibility. We totally get that, which is why we have created a simple way to get the best of both worlds. On-site bar and catering come with many hidden costs, as well as minimums, liability, and overall more stress than it seems. By partnering with preferred and professional bartenders and caterers, you still get that seamless and easy all-inclusive experience, without the hefty price tag or day-of issues. We believe in specialties, so we will specialize in creating a beautiful space for you to get married, while your bartender specializes in creating amazing drinks that your guests won't stop talking about!

Is there on‑site lodging or nearby accommodations for guests?
New Braunfels is a popular destination, so many guests want to make your wedding into a weekend trip! We have on‑site lodging on the property, just steps away from the doors of the venue! These condos range in capacity from 6 to 8, featuring king-sized beds, en-suite bathrooms, and full kitchens. They are the perfect New Braunfels getaway, just seconds from the iconic Gruene Hall!

How long do we have access to the venue on our wedding day?
Depending on your venue package, our hours go up to 14 hours a day! No matter how many hours you have at the venue, no other events will be held on that day. Your hours include time for setup, getting ready, the ceremony, reception, and breakdown. If you need extra time for décor setup or a longer reception, we can talk about adding additional hours!

Do you have a bridal suite and a groom’s room?
Yes, having dedicated getting‑ready spaces makes the day more comfortable and relaxed. Our getting‑ready rooms typically include seating, mirrors, good lighting, and space for hair and makeup. You’ll be able to arrive with your wedding party, settle in, and enjoy the morning together before the festivities begin. The Hidden Gem features 2 groom's suites and 1 spacious bridal suite, all connected to the main reception space.

Are there any noise, music, or event end‑time restrictions?
Because we’re in New Braunfels and part of the wider Hill Country community, we follow local sound ordinances and event end‑time guidelines. We’ll be clear about these timelines so your DJ or band can plan your playlist and last dance accordingly! We have made sure to frame our venue rental hours to respect these guidelines.

What decor is allowed, and are there any restrictions?
We want your wedding to feel personal, but we also have to protect the property and keep everyone safe. Generally, real candles may need to be enclosed in glass, and we may have restrictions on items like confetti, sparklers, open flames, or nails in walls. During your planning process, we’ll review what’s allowed and offer suggestions for decor that works beautifully in the space. As a reminder, we have tons of included decor!

Is parking available for guests?
We know guest parking is a major concern, especially for larger weddings. Our venue includes on‑site parking, and we’ll let you know how many vehicles we can accommodate and where your guests will enter. If you’re expecting a big group or have many out‑of‑town guests, we can also discuss shuttle or transportation options! Your venue rental also comes with a parking attendant.

Do you require event insurance?
The Hidden Gem of Grune requires couples to purchase a one‑day event liability policy, and we’re happy to walk you through that process! It’s a simple, affordable way to add an extra layer of protection for you, your guests, and the venue. We’ll share coverage requirements and recommended providers during the booking process!

How do we reserve our date, and what is the payment schedule?
Our favorite question of them all! To officially reserve your date, we’ll send you a contract and invoice for your retainer. Once those are completed, the date is yours, and we’ll move into the fun part: planning your layout, timeline, and details. We’ll also outline the remaining payment schedule, accepted payment methods, and cancellation or rescheduling policies so everything is clear from the start.
