Tell us how you and your fiancé met!
We actually met online, but we usually tell people we met at college, haha. Aggie Twitter was huge when we were in undergrad, it was a tight and strong community, and usually you had to follow each person that followed you, as long as they had in their bio that they went to Texas A&M University. We connected because I liked one of his funny tweets (allegedly), and he followed me back after scoping out my profile. He took note of the blogs I wrote, and since I was bored during the pandemic, I had written a blog series asking people for their favorite pick-up lines, and using them on Tinder/Twitter/Bumble... It didn't work, but he used it on me, and I immediately took an interest since he cared enough to at least read my blogs. When I moved back to College Station after the peak of the pandemic, it turned out we lived just 1 block away from each other! So we spent plenty of time together.

How was the proposal? We want all the details!
The proposal was so beautiful! We have our photographer friend that we take photographs with every year for our anniversary, and also for all of our major life events (Aggie Ring, Graduations, etc.). It wasn't unusual that we were going to do a photoshoot with him for our second anniversary, but it was a little unusual that he came with me and paid for my manicure and pedicure. He knew I was on the scent a little bit, so to throw me off, we went to dinner the night before our shoot, and he explained we couldn't be engaged right now, as we were living long distance. I huffed and puffed, so it worked. The next day, I realized something was off when we were driving about two hours to Balcones for our photoshoot, and we were the only ones in formal clothes while everyone else was in hiking gear. Our photographer tricked me and told me to look at something for a pose, and when I turned around, he was down on one knee! It's something I will never forget. Even if I suspected he was going to propose, there was nothing like seeing him on one knee with the ring in his hand, asking me to spend the rest of his life with him. Our photographer even caught a little sneaky video on his iPhone of it!

Did you have your wedding planned out since you were a little girl?
I actually just mentioned this now that we're deep into watching Love is Blind, I actually didn't really think about getting married when I was little. I never really played with any white dresses or dreamed about my Prince Charming, even if I played with Barbies, I really didn't dream about my wedding or marriage. I didn't start thinking about it until after I met my husband, and I would save files on Pinterest here and there. Then, when it was time to plan the wedding, I went into full gear! I was deep into Wedding TikTok, went to multiple wedding expos, lived on Pinterest, and lived and breathed Wedding Planning. It was like I had waited all this time, and then wanted to dive right in.

How did you find the Hidden Gem of Gruene?
We had started looking at venues in San Antonio, and after scheduling a few tours, we knew we hadn't found the one just yet. I was getting a little frantic as we were turned away or treated poorly by multiple venues and vendors, and thought there wouldn't be a way to find the venue we were looking for. And then, there was Hidden Gem! We found them by looking around at venues in the New Braunfels area, specifically, and doing a deep dive on The Knot. We also looked at Social Media & pictures, and knew this was the place. It was solidified at our meeting with Macie, when we were treated with kindness. We loved the style of the venue, the cabins on-site, and the preferred vendor list.

With so many beautiful wedding venues to choose from, what attracted you to the Hidden Gem?
It was how kind and polite we were always treated, our answers were always promptly answered, and, simply, the venue itself. It was so nice that so many items were already included with the venue, and that they were able to work with the time we needed. We also felt like this was the perfect venue for us. With a perfect amount of space for plenty of guests and a dance floor, a beautiful staircase for a grand entrance, the beautiful outdoor landscaping for pictures, to a modern yet woodsy look, it was just what we were looking for.

Who were your favorite vendors to work with?
My absolutely FAVORITE vendors to work with were Mana Sabroso and Trivino Entertainment. Jehu and Linda at Mana Sabroso were so amazing, and kept in contact with me from the first time we met at the San Antonio Bridal Expo, through the signing of the contract, which took some time, as our family had suffered a major loss. They were always kind and showed such compassion, as did the entire team; it was no question to book them. Our guests also took the time to tell us how taken care of and safe they felt with Mana Sabroso, and did not have to stress about their food allergies. Our photographer, Andres, with Trivino Entertainment, was absolutely the best. He fit with us so well, and my entire family was so comfortable with him. I also loved working with Cyndi at True Celebrations. When I ran into some issues, I gave her a call, and she fixed it with more decorations. I am so grateful to her.

What did you love the most about the Hidden Gem of Gruene?
I loved that our family was able to stay on-site and get ready the day of, move to the Bridal and Groom suites to complete getting ready, and then get dressed altogether, and start the photoshoot! It made it so much easier and reduced the stress of having to get ready. I also loved the space, being able to have an outdoor cocktail hour, and making the grand entrance down the staircase. There was enough space for all of our tables, and yet plenty of space to dance.

Did you stay at our on-site lodging? If so, what did you think about it?
I loved being able to have all of our family stay on-site! While we dealt with some very loud guests who were outside until 3 AM, it was very nice to have my dog close by and make sure that everyone could drink and make it to their room safely. It was a very nice space.

What was the Best moment that you will always remember from your wedding?
One of the best moments was making our grand entrance down the staircase. It was so amazing to be able to have my niece and nephew walk first, holding the flower petals and rings, and to have us make our entrance with the Mariachis we contracted playing as we walked in. Seeing all of our guests as Macie opened the curtain at the top of the staircase meant everything to me, and it was so amazing to be able to look at our guests as we walked down the staircase and to our table. It's a moment I will never forget.

What is one piece of advice that you would give a future bride when booking a venue?
The one advice I have for Brides is to PLAN EARLY, and ENJOY! Also, to make sure to go over ALL of the details with your day-of coordinator, make double and triple-sure that everything is to your liking.
